These rules are in place to make sure that everyone has a fun and fair experience at our event. They cover everything from participant eligibility and conduct during the contest, to the judging process and prize details.

By filling out and submitting this form, you're officially throwing your hat in the ring for the Crawfish Eating Contest.

After successfully submitting your application, you'll be redirected to a secure payment link where you'll be able to pay your entry fee. Please note, your spot in the contest isn't confirmed until we've received your payment. The competition is based on a first-paid, first-served basis, so we recommend completing your payment as quickly as possible to secure your spot.

Entry Fee – $25

Our Crawfish Eating Contest is open to all amateur foodies who are 18 years or older and in good health. Anyone with a serious health condition or known food allergies, especially to shellfish, is advised not to participate.

Entries:

The number of contestants is limited to 10, and entries will be accepted up until the day of the event, June 10th, 2023. The non-refundable entry fee of $25 must be paid to secure your spot in the contest. Please remember to arrive at least 45 minutes early to sign in at the registration table. Late arrivals may forfeit their entry fee.

Eating Contest Rules:

1. The winner will be determined by the weight of crawfish meat consumed.
2. Each contestant's tray will be monitored by a judge.
3. Trays will be weighed before and after the contest.
4. The contest will last for 5 minutes.
5. Competitors must remain in their designated areas throughout the contest. Leaving your area will result in immediate disqualification.
6. The contestant who eats the most crawfish meat by weight within 5 minutes wins.
7. Any uneaten crawfish will be returned to the contestant's tray.
8. Judges will ensure all crawfish meat is consumed before declaring a winner.
9. In the event of a tie, a final challenge will be initiated. Tied contestants will get an additional 5 minutes to eat, after which trays will be reweighed and a winner announced.
10. The first-place winner will receive a trophy.
11. Contestants may not touch their Crawfish tray or crawfish before the start of the contest.
12. Use of utensils is not permitted.
13. Inappropriate language or gestures will result in disqualification.
14. Physical contact with other contestants is strictly prohibited.
15. If a contestant vomits or regurgitates during the competition or weighing, they will be disqualified.
16. Contestants' names and pictures may be used by Boil Master & J Rucker's House of Soul for promotional purposes.

Contestant Agreement:

I acknowledge that consuming large amounts of crawfish can be potentially hazardous and uncomfortable. I affirm that I am medically capable and properly trained to participate in this activity. I understand that this is a fun competition and commit to being a good sport. I agree to abide by the contest rules and decisions of the officials. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including indigestion, feeling stuffed, and potential aversion to crawfish afterwards. In consideration of my entry being accepted, I release Boil Master, J Rucker's House of Soul, and their representatives, sponsors, and successors from all claims of liabilities of any kind arising from my participation in this event.
